As a Disability Transportation Specialist, your mission is to provide safe and reliable transport services to individuals with disabilities, enabling them access to essential destinations such as medical appointments, social services, and community events. You are responsible for operating specialized vehicles, assisting passengers during their journeys, and ensuring all transport complies with accessibility standards. You will schedule routes effectively and maintain vehicle safety checks. This role requires patience, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering courteous and supportive transport options that promote independence and community participation.
The Work You'll Do:
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting vehicles, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
- Communicate clearly with clients to provide assurance and address any travel concerns or requests.
- Conduct regular checks and maintenance on transport vehicles, reporting any issues promptly for repairs.
- Plan and update transportation schedules in response to clients' needs and service demands.
- Safely operate and maintain transport vehicles equipped for accessibility to provide reliable service to individuals with disabilities.
