Full Job Description
The Special Needs Aide will provide one-on-one support and care for children with special needs in an after-school care setting. This role requires understanding the unique challenges faced by children with disabilities and developing appropriate programs to assist their participation in activities. The Special Needs Aide will work closely with children to help them develop social skills, execute educational strategies, and ensure their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate, and skilled in creating inclusive environments where children can thrive.
The Work You'll Do:
- Create and adapt materials to meet the individual learning needs of each child
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
- Implement specialized educational and recreational strategies
- Observe and report on individual progress and provide feedback to parents and educators
- Provide tailored support to special needs children ensuring their comfort and participation
