Full Job Description
The Math Specialist will work within our tutoring program to develop, implement, and oversee a curriculum designed to improve students’ understanding and mastery of mathematics. You will be responsible for assessing students’ needs, crafting personalized lesson plans, and providing one-on-one or group instruction tailored to different learning styles. Engaging students with diverse methodologies is crucial, as will be tracking their progress and adapting strategies as necessary. Collaboration with parents and teachers to agree on learning goals and to ensure improvement stays on track is a core part of this role. An enthusiasm for teaching mathematics and a patient, encouraging approach is essential to foster a positive and effective learning environment.
The Work You'll Do:
- Develop mathematics lesson plans that align with students' academic goals and capabilities
- Engage students in hands-on activities and real-world applications of math concepts
- Evaluate students’ progress regularly and adjust instruction methods to optimize learning outcomes
- Provide in-depth tutoring sessions that employ multiple teaching strategies
- Work closely with classroom teachers and parents to ensure tutoring sessions support classroom learning
